West OKC Rotary Student/Teacher of the Month
On September 4th, the West OKC Rotary Club proudly presented a $250 startup donation to the newly established Western Heights High School. The event brought together key figures from the Western Heights School District, including Dr. Savage, the Superintendent, and Megan Wilson, Assistant Superintendent and Rotarian. The celebration was also attended by Mrs. Kandy Hunt, Principal of Western Heights High School, and Ms. LaTonia More, the Interact Advisor, who was accompanied by three enthusiastic new Interact members.
On a bright April afternoon, West OKC Rotary Club celebrated its Western Heights Teacher and Student of the Month.
Honoring Dedication
Michelle-Stepheny Williams, a dedicated English teacher, was honored for her commitment to education. Alongside her, senior Lanie Guhr received the Student of the Month award for her leadership and academic excellence.
Once upon a time, in the bustling city of West OKC, a group of dedicated Rotarians came together with a vision to make a positive impact on their community. The Rotary Club members, known for their unwavering commitment to service, compassion, and education, decided to take their efforts to a whole new level.
During a Rotary Club meeting, an idea was born. Inspired by Rotary International's theme for the year 2023-2024, "Creating Hope in the World," the West OKC Rotary Club decided to launch a new initiative to honor outstanding students and teachers in their community.
