Once upon a time, in the bustling city of West OKC, a group of dedicated Rotarians came together with a vision to make a positive impact on their community. During a Rotary Club meeting, an idea was born. Inspired by Rotary International's theme for the year 2023-2024, "Creating Hope in the World," the West OKC Rotary Club decided to launch a new initiative to honor outstanding students and teachers in their community.
The West OKC Rotary Club collectively agreed to select a Student of the Month and a Teacher of the Month from the Western Heights School District— a district that had captured their hearts. With a passion for nurturing young minds and empowering educators, the Club saw this as the perfect opportunity to create hope and make a lasting difference in the lives of those in the local community.
The members of the West OKC Rotary Club is determined to recognize individuals who exemplified the values of hope, empathy, and resilience. Throughout the school year, the West OKC Rotary Club and Western Heights School Administrators will choose a student and teacher who demonstrated exceptional qualities and made positive contributions to their school and community.
The process of selecting the Student and Teacher of the Month will be carefully executed. School Administrators are encouraged to submit nominations highlighting the outstanding achievements and remarkable qualities of individuals they believed deserved recognition. The selected Student and Teacher of the Month will be unveiled during mesmerizing award ceremonies held at The Embassy Suites Will Rogers Airport. The Student and Teacher of the Month will receive a certificate of recognition.
